Wait...there are CATTLE underwater? I must not have been looking as close as I thought. (Either that, or I really need to have the prescription of my mask checked.)
Haven't you ever 'herd' of "sea cows"? Or manatees????

My brain.

I go down with two 6'2" , 235lbs diving buddies... Ex pro football players .....

So far, they did the job !!!

I simply rely on professional courtesy.

Seriously though, I've found that the best device for keeping sharks away is a camera and a great need for shark photos. I've got lots of pictures of shark butts, but very few shark faces.

As far as the bit about cutting your buddy and then swimming like heck ... Since your buddy is thinking the same thing, what the shark sees is two divers pulling knives and having at each other for no apparent reason. The shark reasons that that kind creatures that are that aggressive are dangerous and not worth messing with. The shark avoids the whole mess.

I find it sad that with over 50 posts, no one has even mentioned the mighty Mike Nelson. I've got a video of him wresting many-a-shark with only his bare hands. Lets see Chuck Norris do that.

...............If you have to, push the shark away (or you away from the shark) or hit it on the nose or in the gills. Gills are my first choice, but sometimes you can't reach your first choice.

Have you had occasion to do this before Walter? Your post sounds like you have. Would like to hear about it.
