I just purchased an Alpha-8 regulator and it has a bit of Free-Flow. I wanted to adjust the breathing resistance to tone it down. How do I make the adjustments? Is this something the I should have the pros do? I haven't worked on regs before but I am an engineer and a pretty mechanical guy. Thanks!

You need to remove the hose from the second stage, look down the inlet to the second stage and you will see a slotted adjuster. Press the purge button to relieve the pressure on the seat, and tighten that with a slotted screwdriver about 1/8 of a turn at most. Reconnect the hose, turn on the reg and check it...repeat as needed.

If you want to send me a PM with your email address, I can email you the service manual for that regulator.
