First post on the board :D

For me, I trained PADI OW so 12m/50ft (ish) was the limit, but i just turned 15 so i'm no longer a Junior OW and the limit is 18m for me now - big new prospects!

Went to 18m on a recent dive for the first time, and for me as a relative amateur it felt no different, looked no different and i used up the air at the same rate, so i probably feel comfortable down to 20m now. Makes sense - thats the depth where my cheap Underwater Camera breaks! :D

Ahh!! Ok, I understand now. When I was younger and crazier, we used to have a large tank for nitrous oxide. We would have nitrous parties and sit around breathing it straight. The "wah wah's" are what we used to hear just before blacking out :-)

Interesting....did everyone hear the wah, wah, wah?

I did the same thing with nitrous.. It sounds like a train or trucks roaring by. This was usually accompanied by a slow fall to the floor, since there was no way to continue standing after a few good hits.

I used to work in a lab that had a buch of nitrous laying around that some guys used to breath. After one of them convulsed and was hauled off in a ambulance they locked it up so the burnouts couldn't get to it. LOL

How deep? I often stop just shy of the bottom. Last week I had to go all the way to the bottom because vis was nil and I wanted to see if I was on the road bed or not so I touched it with a finger to see if it was gravel. I was at about 26 ft.

A couple of weeks before I did a touchy feely sort of no vis dive but had trouble getting below about 7 ft. Not because I was narced or anything but because I would have needed a shovel to get deeper in that river.

All this talk about depth...Red I'm surprised at you.

It was getting dull around here, Mike. :D

We were talking about the wah, wah story in the chatroom when it died. I ran into a guy not too long ago who claimed he's heard the wah, wah. I googled it and the old AquaCorp articles popped up.

Disclaimer: I don't condone or encourage deep air diving or diving below recreational limits without the proper training.

Having said that, I think a frank discussion about narcosis is interesting.
