I have a DiveRite TransPlate, which so far I used with steel doubles. I want to use the same BP for diving with single AL80 tanks, therefore I ordered the Venture wing and the TransWeight 32 system.

I have a questions about the TransWeight system for which I could not find any answer, neither on the DiveRite site, nor by searching old posts on this message board: How exactly are the TransWeight pockets attached to the webbing, so that they don't slip? I must be missing something obvious, but if I just slide them on, they will certainly slip forward during a dive. What is the recommended way to keep them from slipping? Should I put them between the BP and the D-rings on the waist strap? If so, wouldn't this make it hard to get to items clipped to these D-rings? Is there any other method?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Do you allready have the pockets?

If you do, you'll notice 2 straps in each pocket, the vertical one is threaded through the harness waist strap and the angled strap is threaded through the lower part of the harness shouder strap, that way the pocket will be kept nicely tucked against the BP.
Just make sure that you install the correct pocket in each side.

I made my own weight pockets but I think this might help too.

I place my weight pockets right at the Shoulder Strap Base Plate (picture attached). What I did is after inserting the the waist strap through the 1st pre-drilled slot on the base plate, I run the waist strap through the strap of the weight pocket before strapping it through the 2nd slot on the base plate.

Hope this helps.

The DR pockets are designed to fit any BP design and many soft packs too, just install them correctly and forget about them.

They will ride in front of the BP or the Trans Pack or similar soft pack BC and won't slide in the waist strap.

Yes, I have them, but there is no angled strap. Both straps are the same angle, i.e., parallel to each other. I'm afraid they could not be set up as you suggest.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. However, I'm afraid this doesn't work for my harness. I have the DR Basic Harness. It is made from a single piece of continuous webbing, so the webbing comes down from the shoulder, is threaded from the front to the back through the first slot of the BP, and then from the back to the front through the second slot.

How do I install them so that they don't slide? They will certainly slide due to the weight if I'm swimming in a horizontal position, won't they?

You have the metal plate staddle the last of the two sewn straps...
so you belt goes thru the first slot of the metal plate then thru the the sewn slot then thru the other side of the metal plate and then on thru the second sewn strap on the way to the buckle...

if that doesn't make sense...stop by your local Dive-Rite dealer or send me a private message for a phone number and I'll try and talk you thru it :-)

No problem. You said you use TransPlate and thought my way might give you some idea. Hope you will get a solution soon!!!!
