How are divers getting to Sorong these days?

Hi There,

My wife and I are considering a trip to Raja Empat for our 10th anniversary. We were thinking of flying into either Denpassar or Singapore. How are divers getting to Sorong from there? Does Lion Air only go a few days a week? What about Merpati's schedule? Any information would be appreciated. We're considering a stopover in either Denpassar or Singapore, so we wouldn't necessarily need to connect from our overseas flight.

You can take a Silk Air flight from Singapore to Menado and connect to a Lion Air or Merpati flight from Menado to Sorong. I think both Lion and Merpati is daily but you might need to stay overnight in Menado. Have a look at their website for exact flight times.

In case, you go through the Denpasar route then you would connect in Makassar to Sorong.

, then you overnight 1 nights at Makasar, the next days flight to Sorong
there is 2 option to Sorong from Makasar, using Merpati Airlines and Express Air

The other thing to consider is the time of year that you will be going. Sometimes the weather can delay/cancel flights out of Manado into sorong....so if you are going to a LOB or the rsort in Misool you will need to consider which way carefully

Thanks everyone... We were hoping to spend a night or two in Denpassar, so it looks like we'd have to make a mixed reservation to Makassar or Manado and then on from there. Thanks again for everyone's help.
