I'm a Fish!
I would love to hear your favorite Bonaire restaurants, and why they are the best.
Your top 3 please!

For breakfast.....MANGOS....just down the road from Buddy Dive. The best and cheapest breakfast on the island. Not to mention the owners are a riot.

For supper....CASABLANCA....and especially the grill teller for two. Order that and you have enough left overs for three days worth of lunches.

Just dang fun....GIBIs.....a local that does food from his house on the back porch.

I like the Lions Den - Kirk Gosden has proven his culinary capabilities from way back in the Green Parrot days until now. His crew is fantastic and the food outstanding. He sets a mean table. Besides that, he is my friend.

Bobby Jan's Barbecue - God what an enormous amount of delicious food for a little money. Shame is that it's only open on weekends.

The Rose Inn - Total relaxation sitting under the canopy of vines and enjoying mystery meat at its finest. My favorite was to do a late afternoon or night dive at Ol Blue or Karpata and stop in the Rose on the way home. Many times I have asked Jan. "How many Polars and chicken wings will thirty dollars of wet money buy?" His standard answer was "I'll let you know when it gets here." Even after she closed the kitchen Malfina would go down the street to get barbecue for us. Jan passed away in March but Malfina is still producing great food and cold drink.

Casablanca for dinner - the food is outstanding.
Donna & Giorgio's for pizza.
it rains fishes for a special occasion - the food is excellent and the service is superb. Can't beat the view either.

Casablancas...awesome service, friendly and good food.
Richards also great...a bit more pricey but, good staff also and great food.
Donna & Giorgio's is also great...good lasagna.
something quick the Rib House....

lunch - old inn across from plaza (great subs with fries for 6 bucks) main entrance and city cafe for great burgers

dinner CASABLANCAS (a meat eaters dream come true) The best steaks around and it looks like a roast when you get it.

Richards great fish after a couple other places we tried fish this is hands down the best(zee zichts and it rains fishes were also good for fish). The shrimp bisque and seafood soup were the best i've had anywhere.

Bistro De Paris - I hate itallion food and really enjoyed it here so that says a whole lot. My wife loves itallain food and said it was one of the best she had eaten at. The conch chowder in a bread bowl was outstanding.

ENOUGH!! PBD is setting in bad and my stomach is protesting!
Natasha, you did this to torture me didn't you :)

I have a lot of places but here are a few.
Casa Blanca , the mixed grill for 2 is huge
Bobbie Jans, all of their meats are great but open weekends only
City Cafe for lunch, one of the best burgers around and the view is good breakfast is good as well.
The Lost Penguin is good for breakfast and lunch.

I agree with Rich, for local food and a good time, Gibi is hard to beat. He is hard to find and you have to be in a family get together mood if you go. It's more like a family reunion at grandmothers than a restaurant.
I understand Mangos has moved from the pool and out to the beach in a spot close to where the Green Parrot was. If you know where that is, you are a long time Bonaire fan.

Lunch:
Julio's. On the "main drag" right in the middle of Kralendijk (across from the Bank). Basically just a take out joint but the food is inexpensive, tasty, and plentiful. Don't be afraid to ask for translations of the blackboarded menu.

Watttaburger. The sate is yummy & cheap.

Dinner:
It Rains Fishes. Just too darned delicious. I dare you to keep from licking the plate. ;)

P.S.: Cultimara Supermarket has the best baked goods, including bread. And don't forget Lover's Ice cream!

Wow! These are great. I'm very interested in Gibi's. I never heard of it before this thread.

We are up to 32 in our fall group now. Can we 'rent' out his backyard for a private party and have him cook for us? If so, how would I go about this, and what does he usually cook? How are his prices?

PS I agree on It Rains Fishes. Good food, great place.
