Houston dive shop recommendation

Hey all you (all y'all?) Houston-ites..

A good friend of mine has expressed an interest in getting certified. But she lives down in Houston. She works and lives near Rice. Can anyone make a good recommendation for a good LDS for her to check out?

Maximum Scuba. The Houston location is on Richmond and Hillcroft next to the Pappasitos. It is $300 all inclusive (fins, mask, snorkel, bcd, tanks, weights).

That is kinda of a long drive for lessons when there are several shops within 5 miles of Rice.

gigglin marlin (funny name, great shop) is right off richmond. you can ask orlowskij more about their training. but they do all their certification dives at 288 lake, and for $20 a month you get unlimited tank rentals and fills. they are a bare and HOG dealer, fair prices too!

I second the Maximum Scuba suggestion. Friendly staff and great instructors. Two locations. One in Houston, the other in Seabrook.

Without a doubt...Maximum Scuba.

I cannot even express my gratitude for Jeff Gordon's kindness, patience, professionalism and most of all - his pure love of diving.
If I was a new diver, I would want Jeff at Maximum Scuba to be my Instructor
