I bought a horse collar off eBay for a little experiment. Its an older Seatec model. The corrugated hose is naturally on the left side. On this model the pull dump/overinflation valve is midway down on the right side.

Here is my question. Will I damage the bladder by unscrewing the fittings? I want to move the corrugated hose to the right side and the pull dump to the left side.

The reason for this is I want to try using the horse collar with my bp/wing setup. I am checking to see if this would be functional on the Dive rescue team.

Anyone with experience on these, I would love to pick your brain a little.

Thanks

I'd appreciate that Bob. But what would that cost?(eek)

I'd like to know more about the custom though.

I know the new seatec's mount in a different location. Wondering if the fittings screw into the bladder like a Halcyon bladder? Anyone know?

Go ahead and disassemble one valve, usually it is some form of compression ring gasket

That would make sense. You can see an orange colored ring of material between the bladder and the shell. It must be some kind of seal. I just dont know if there is some kind of adhesive/sealant I will destroy if I break the seal.

DO you guys know of anyone selling the bladders for the seatecs ? I can't find anyone.

I'll have to get back with you later in the week, I'm house sitting for a buddy right now & the info is back at the shop.
The prices are pretty reasonable, it'd probably cost about the same as a "normal" horsecollar.

Yah, Seatec still makes/sells them, they're expensive as heck though.
What model do ya need it for?
