I made a hood drying and storage rack out of scrap SS that was laying around the shop. I polished the base with a wire wheel and all other components are connected by 1/2”-20 threaded rod. The ball on top is a 316 SS float that measures 5” in diameter. Silly item to make but I had the time, tools, and parts readily available. The bottom of the hood has approximately a 1/4” gap from the base which is hard to tell from the photo angle and can be adjusted if need be for various hoods that I own/use.
