im having problems with my hood collecting bubbles. it fits well, and i wear my hood over my mask. i know this doesnt help with the bubble situation, but my mask leaks like a mo-fo when i wear it over the hood. i tried putting a "vent" in the top with my dive knife but that didnt help much. any suggestions? its a henderson hyperstretch bibbed hood BTW

Get yourself a coat hanger... straighten out the hook... heat it and burn two or three holes in the top of your hood. End of problem.

PfcAJ:
Why is your mask leaking when you wear it over your hood?

mostly its my own laziness. to me its just a PITA to have to constantly refit my hood around the mask and adjust the skirt when i need to flood and clear the mask. my buddy kicked my mask off today with it under the hood and i refitted it and cleared it with no leaks after. under the hood is just what works best for me

I just looked at my hood, and there are a series of small holes, I could PM you a pic of the size and position if you like.
it doesn't hold air like my previous one did. I had a bad habit in OW of blowing air out my nose, my head looked like a balloon a lot of the time.

I think the problem with venting the hood is not putting the holes in the right place. The holes should be at the highest point in the hood, while you are underwater. For most people, this is probably towards the back of the head.

If the bubbles are giving me conehead, I'll tilt my head to one side, and pat my head while I rub my tummy. The patting is to force the air out the seams. :D

The only solution really is holes in the top. The two O'Neill wetsuits that I own with attached hoods both have 8 holes. They create two diamond patterns next to each other and run from the front to back of the head in the top center.

As Stephen Ash suggests, these are about the size of coat hanger holes.

yea the one i have has a flow vent in what would be the top if your standing. Im no normally in vertical trim when im diving. lol so i guess ill poke some holes in in the back of the head and see how that works.

jg. if you want to pm me those pix feel free.

thanks for the suggestions
