Hi everyone! Apologies is this is not the right forum for this question. I am going on a long snorkeling trip and want to avoid ear problems since it's to a remote area. I have a recipe for swimmer's ear, but does anyone have a recipe for ear water repellant spray like ear shield? Looks like it's a combination of mineral oil, tea tree oil and olive oil, but that is all I can find. Thanks!

I use ocean water, from the ocean, consisting of the many various natural ocean borne ingredients
I'm almost loathed to have a shower afterwards certainly immediately, until it has worked its magic

I use a mixture of equal parts of distilled white vinegar/isopropyl alcohol/water for myself . It has worked well.
I was wondering For some time if adding some mineral oil to the mixture would emulsify, but I have not tried that part yet.

90% Isopropyl Alcohol; 9% White vinegar. Add a few drops of glycerin.

5 drops in each ear for 5 mins. Once daily.

Someone told me that an ENT told her that a better solution than ear beer is doing a Listerine gargle after diving in suspect water. I have been doing it regularly and seems to work. Two years since I had an ear infection.

Thanks everyone! For those of you recommending the ear beer / swimmer ear formula, do you use that before entering the water? What I am looking to make is the spray that coats your ear with a water resistant layer and helps water leave easily. Thinking of also trying the vented ear plugs but in case I lose them I would like extra options

Do you do this before or after? I'm going to be using the vinegar and alcohol for preventing swimmers ear but hoping to also use something to help water leave like the Ear Shield spray

The glycerin coats the ear. Use it prior to diving
