Isn't There A Home Remedy For Water In Your Ear

Per my doc:
50% Vinegar and 50% Achohol
Flood each ear alternately for 5 minutes after each dive day.

No cheating on the 5 minutes, the Navy found that it's critical, you can go longer.

The alchohol will tend to kill the bugs and absorb water.
The vinegar restores the natural acidity that gets rinsed form your ear while diving.

It will clear that stuffy feeling and help prevent swimmers ear.

Hydrogen peroxide, and try and get it behind your eardrum by tugging your earlobe a bit.

...one gets hydrogen peroxide behind an intact eardrum and what it feels like when it enters the middle ear space? ; )

MY BAD!!!

talking about something I don't know enough about. For years I have been putting meds in my son's ears (he has tubes) and tugging the lobe until a little bubble rises up, thinking the drops were going behind his tempanic membrane. NOT. It was just making the "dogleg" turn into a deeper portion of the external ear canal....hope you did not get any H202 back there in your middle ear because of me!

I should stick to giving ENT advice like this: Stand on one leg and cock your head while jumping on one foot. :D

Which leg do you jump on for which ear?

the leg on the side that has water in it!...now jump!

So correct me if I didn't get this straight.

1. Use Debrox before diving to remove wax.

2. Put a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% alcohol in your ears for 5 minutes each and no less. I guess to keep it in for 5 minutes each you have to lay on your side on a bed for 5 minutes each.

3. Jump on one leg with cocked head shaking it all out. Right leg for right ear and left leg for left ear.

4. Repeat on other leg and head cocked the other way.

5. Put a solution of 95% alcohol and 5% glycerin in each ear. This is to keep the ear from being too dry!

6. Repeat steps 3 and 4.

7. Consider using hydrogen peroxide somewhere in you ear too.

8. Put litmus paper in ear to check the acidity.

9. Check for too much fluid behind eardrums.

10. Put toilet paper rolled neatly like a rat tail into ear to get out the last drop.

11. Take decongestants every 4 hours and antihistamines at bed time.

12. Watch out for hemorrhoids and spontaneous human combustion.

13. Call DAN if this does not work.
