When I did my class they didn't have that problem. They had one that would act up(pre-production) that without the CO2 sensor it would scream high CO2 and call bail the others did not have that problem. My instructor said that the pre-pro's would act up in the very warm water as water would stay As a vapor in the loop the CO2 would alarm high. Yeah I can't remember any High CO2 alarms in class with the sensor, just one annoying one with out the sensor, but that unit was borked from the get go. That unit would alway miss analyze the nitrox gas in the loop nearly 10% higher, and would happily allow you blow past the MOD of the false high gas. But the pre-pro had been rode very hard some had over 150 hours of diving all over the world shipped wet then dove again.

Also option 2 is no good cause the unit tracks gas usage(as in how much gas you consume) that mixed with scrubber temp it comes up with a CO2 production number, so it is possible for it to tell you to bail cause it things you are over breathing the scrubber. As in hyperventilation in hypercapnia.
