Holden Beach Area

Hi

Going to the Holden Beach Area this weekend through next week. Thought I would hit the water - my first ocean dive btw - any suggestions ? I'm only OW certified untill 15th of next month.

That's a tough call Mama Dee. The only site in that area I know of suitable for a first time ocean dive is the Liberty Ship (Alexander Ramsey) off Wilmington. These guys would be a great choice for that trip: http://www.aquaticsafaris.com/

If someone else knows of a better site on the SC side, feel free to chime in.

The General Sherman and Barracuda Alley from N. Myrtle Beach are both sites where checkout dives are held. Coastal Scuba (www.coastalscuba.com) and Dolphin Dive Charter (www.dolphindivecharter or www.southcarolinadive.com) both visit these sites.

Just so you know what you're getting into - This is one of the busiest weeks of the summer.
