Does anybody have any more info on the person hit by a boat yesterday?

It didn't say on El Policiaco facebook page. Below is the translation.
This morning a tourist was injured by the propeller of a boat, so it was moved from emergency to the for your care hyperbaric chamber, but as it required a delicate operation was carried to the San Miguel clinic for surgery, which would seek to avoid amputation of the left leg.
The report indicates that the name WITHHELD originally from WITHHELD tourist was injured by the propeller of a boat, the lesion was significant because it included tibia and fibula, by what was channeled emergency first to the hyperbaric chamber and then to the clinica San Miguel, where the doctors would try to save his leg.
So far the information is low, it is unknown the name of the boat that propelo to the tourist and the captain that guided it, but the port authority shall issue a report on this incident.

The injury sounds bad based upon that translation. Ideally the person will fully recover.

It would be interesting to understand the circumstances of this event.

I wonder why they sent him to a hyperbaric chamber initially.

Bad reporting/translation. San Miguel Clinic also has a hyperbaric chamber - and Dr. Piccolo is the dive medicine specialist - and the primary tourism Dr. at San Miguel - so he probably was there as MMM said to assess if there was also DCS - who knows. You can never rely on accurate reporting from the local papers and a lot gets lost in translation.

Prayers to the injured diver as well as the crew involved - this cannot be easy for anyone.

Just saw a fb post someone shared from policia de Cozumel fb page. Had a pic of womens drivers license. I didn't translate it. She was a town around Tulsa. Prayers for her and her family.

I left her name out on purpose for privacy. Cant believe they posted her I.D. online.
