Yes, I'm fine, and my family is too. My BIL is out making firebreaks tonight before the hot weather hits again next week, so we're hoping things will improve a bit.

Glad to hear it.

I live about 5 miles from some mountains that burn every 5 years or so- I'm a bit too far for the fire itself to reach but live ash dropping on your house is not a fun time.
 
Just had to set up the cages for the birds ... they are getting very noisy ... think it is time they got out of their cages.

They said here the other day that the fire intensity for the weekend would be 100, the worst possible scenario, but in actual fact it ended up off the scale at 300 :depressed:

Exactly and it's the embers that cause the problem as they can travel many kms ahead of the firefront.
