Ok I found it, good on you.

Uncle is still up at the house but threat is downgraded from 'urgent' to just normal threat which I think is way better. My cousin got back yesterday and my aunt is waiting for the roads to reopen so she can go see him. I think he is EXHAUSTED. How are your family doing liv??

I'm glad they're all alright...exhausted must be putting it mildly.

My family are okay. My BIL is at Bunyip helping with the firebreaks before the weather changes. They hope those two fronts won't join up next week.

Man the fish bite easy here tonight! No worries.. fish wants me to go check this place out. Need to get the order in ASAP. He has been working on it for hours and hours... a bit of a perfectionist.

Jon has said he wants 3 of the shirts as well. Kinda cool he is into it that much! I really like them..they have given us such good service in the past. We dived with the other mob when we were traveling with some other diving friends but I wasn't as impressed by them.

One thing that doesn't impress me is feeding the fish or interfereing with them.. Jon doesn't do that. They don't even like you throwing the left over bread and stuff overboard.

Oh thanks fish! (If he is around?) I am SO looking forward to having my first dive t-shirt :rofl3: Paul has tonnes of them and I have none!

Well with the fish feeding, I don't think it is appropriate these days either. I remember trying to feed fish when I first started diving. The people I learned to dive with well, during my course they puffed up pufferfish for us and told us to bring bread for the shrimp on other dives. :shakehead: We weren't very successful though ;) Paul had bread in a plastic baggie and it went everywhere when he opened it so none left to put down shrimp holes. I was watching a video of me from very early when I started diving a few days ago and there is one of me trying to catch a puffer :shocked2: :shakehead: Poor little dude, lucky I couldn't catch it. I don't like to interfere at all now. It is a pity some instructors do that kind of stuff around students cos I am sure many of them don't realise that interfering is not a good idea.

Ok well that is great to hear they are ok. :)

Okay I guess everyone's gone.

Take care guys.

I'm off to watch the rest of the telethon...

TTFN.

Night liv!

The other dive shot at SWR feed one of the eels... apparently it is quite friendly and they can handle it.. but I think it is better to leave them alone. Feeding fish things that aren't natural for them can create health problems... there were fish in Florida dying for a while because people were feeding them Cheese Whiz they found they had high cholesterol! I've also seen that video where the moray takes someone's thumb off when he was playing around feeding it and teasing it with sausages. It also makes the fish agressive and dangerous if they think you have food... just a bad idea all around.

Worst thing I do is occassionally take my glove off to gently touch one that seems calmnand ok with it.

I also worry that divers may make critters go to spearos looking for food not expecting to become food! I am glad it is illegal to spear on Scuba in NSW!

Darn I always get too wordy and miss everyone... babbling too much! :crying:

Actually not all my fault fish needed my laptop to do something and I had to get it back from him.. night liv

Yea it is illegal in Victoria too. I saw two idiots spearfishing around the pier the other weekend. I told them off as it is illegal to be within 30m of a jetty, kids jump in all the time and things like that! There are plenty of reefs within swimming distance of the shore they could fish at. Around piers they get bored too and start spearfishing toadfish for the hell of it. Makes me really annoyed >:(

Ok well I am very tired after such a late night diving last night (I got into bed at nearly 2.30 :() so heading to bed early tonight - catch you guys later!

My original instructor was very adamant about not interfereing with the critters.

If your friend wants a tshirt it is not too late. If she wants one with her name on it she just has to pic a name, register it on SB and let us know. Fish needs the infor to have this in for preinting no later than monday.
