This is probably going to get moved to the non-diving forum or should I say not-so-sane jello-slingin forum...but for the most part, hi-jacking is a hilarious offense, and there should be a poll started to see who we think is the best hi-jacking mastermind on the board.
Hmm... Favorite hijack? That would have to be staged Fido. That one came way out of the blue, in a fairly serious thread, and even ended up forcing the original topic into a new thread alltogether! Not to mention, it was one of the funniest things I've ever read on SB.

Without a doubt, the greatest hijack since DB Cooper: Going from resue diving to "Clipping off Fido like a stage..." its still the Michael Jordon of hijacked threads.
I guess I should apologize in advance. I think I am a chronic thread hijacker. I don't mean too, but sometimes I just do. I already did it today. So I posted "get back to..." and stepped out.
But from the comments here, this must be a skill that you all are proud of.
Gee, I thought my inadvertant nack for OT was a blonde thing.
So does this mean I don't have to apologize for hijacking even when I don't mean to? Hey, does this mean I have no hidden talent for hijacking? Oh No. R

While the content of the hijack may be funny in and of itself, the effect on multiple things is negative:
Serious thread is sidetracked
Searches on content fail because the title and general content are mostly unrelated
Visitors are confused and have more difficulty hunting down answers
Isn't usually appreciated, especially by the originating member
It is against the rules
Usually gets moderated anyway (making more work for us)
That said humor has it's place, we certainly want this board to be a fun place to hang out, a little "on-topic" humor is an excellent way to lighten up a serious subject. To hijack and redirect a thread is inconsiderate at best. Of course moderators let it slide fairly regularly, and have even been guilty of it a couple of times.
