Looks like more high seas here in Maine, I want to go out snorkeling in then ocean at least one more time this season, next weekend is probably the latest my gear will support. Seems like the seas have been up a lot even with no big storms here on-shore.

Are these typical October conditions? How's it been in the rest of N.E. ?

I don't have many sheltered spots that ate nearly as interesting as the exposed ones.

Just got back from buying my husband some new gear, to retrieve a phone message stating my charter in Cape Ann tomorrow morning is cancelled due to high seas. They said shore diving is all stirred up as well. I'm so bummed. It was going to be my first trip to the Chester Polling. Sighhhhhh! Being that the car is all packed anyone got ideas to salvage a trip out of the weekend?

No it isn't just you, it has been pretty rough down here in Southern New England as well. There have been 15-25 knot winds almost non-stop for the last week. I still managed to get a couple of shore dives in but our choices were very limited by the conditions.

Not good for diving!! The seas in Boston have been a mess for nearly a week. After an awesome summer the weather this fall is not cooperating. I guess we have to take the bad with the good.

If have to get a dive in, lakes and quarries are only options. (Clarks Point at Winnie, Newfound Lake, True Blue Quarry in VT) Unless want to try rivers like Piscataqua during slack (Pierce Island..)

You dive oceans for what you see, you dive lakes/rivers for what you find..

Last year we were diving up to the end of December. This year has been bad. Spring was great, but since August I've been blown out every other weenend. I hope Novenber clears up.

The year before last was also a bad fall. Sept-Oct were blown out.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I've got a couple of nice dives in early-mid Sept, but since then I've had to bang out of at least four scheduled dives due to unsavory weather(incl yesterday). I've got one more try this Wed.

Have you tried McKiney park in Wolfeboro? Snorkeled there this summer and it was awesome, also a frequent dive site, one went solo while we were there.

The park is a small place at the bottom of the hill at a sharp left. It's marked by a small engraved stone that can be blocked by a parked car. Lot's of rocky crevices and it progresses to a wall. Loking forward to the place when we get certified next year.

I live near Salisbury beach. I was suppose to go diving today for my usual dive with the Undersea dive club out of Beverly. I had a feeling that today was going to be bad, but I just had to take a quick drive near the beach to see how the surf was. To me the surf looks good if you're training to be a navy seal. The only people in the water were surfers.

I recently bought a octopus and computer two months ago. Due to work and weather I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Oh well.

I finally got my boat. All the bugs are wildly flapping their claws and tails in a futile effort to churn it up so badly that I won't hunt for them. Little do they know how low my scallop and lobster stash is. Bwaa-Haa Haa :evilsmile
