Hi,
I have recently bought a 300 bar compressor, and the attached filling hose is too short and I need a longer one. There are no compressor-shops nearby and I was hoping to be able to skip freight and buy locally. Is it possible to use a hydraulic hose (450 bar) for a breathing air compressor, or does it have to have some other marking? I calling the local "hose reseller", what do I ask for?

You want a non-skive thermoplastic hose like an at8s series, but your local hydraulic shop is unlikely to stock it, and won’t have the crimp dies for it anyway. A regular 100r8 hydraulic hose is completely unsuitable. And the procedure to lubricate the crimp fittings renders it unusable for breathing air anyway.

To expand on what Frank said: Get breathing air hose. It won't offgas "bad stuff" (that's a technical term) into the air you breathe. It's more expensive than hydraulic hose, but not much.
