After several weeks I got by mail a new bulb from UK. I placed the new bulb and the torch works now like magic! No "trrrr" sound and it allways turns on.

vicky once bubbled...
"Just so you know Leisure Pro is not an Authorized Dealer of
Underwater Kinetics. It is unfortunate that they do not inform their customers of such, so that being said technically your Warranty would be void, because the product needs to be purchased from an Authorized Dealer. I would suggest that in the future when you see a product from them you would like to purchase, call the manufacture first to see if Leisure Pro is authorized, I can tell you that most often they are not. However we are happy that you have chosen our product and I will do what I can to get your Light cannon working."

It seems they will try to help me (and others?) to fix the problem. I just don't like the attitude- they are now doing me a "special favor" if they help me, because I bought a supposedly good product from a supposedly bad dealer (Myself, I LOVE LP and will keep buying from them!) hence I do not deserve any guarantee... Shame on me
Now I just need to wait what "I will do what I can to get your Light cannon working" actually means... I'll keep updating for any developments, as I understand others may have similar problems.

This is not meant to be a flame or any kind of nastiness at you Vicki, but if you had read LP's info sections they do tell you that they are NOT authorized dealers of a lot of their products and you have not manufacturers warranty. Supposedly they warrant everything they sell as good or better than the manufacturer. Sometimes this is as good or better than you LDS will do, it is just according to whether they really want your business or not. Anyway, I do hope you get your light straightened out.

Just received my LC from LP. Prior to shipment I sent them an email regarding the bulp problem. I received mine last week tried it couple of times (15) works like magic. Had no problems! I am very pleased with it!

:)

Well as luck would have it ..... :(

I bought a light cannon around a year ago whilst in HK (I live in China) and kept it for future use - which is next week but lo and behold we have a slight flicker of the bulb and ...nothing, no clicks no light (and I just blew USD15 on new Duracells too) !

Does anyone have the correct email address for UK please.

Thanks in advance !

Kevin

Well I guess I am lucky, I have one question, When I turn on my LC 100, right where the light module and the battery pack(cover) assembles(where the main o ring is located) I see a light coming off through the o ring. Does this mean that my LC will get flooded when I turn it on underwater? or is this normal?

Great Service !

Am I a happy camper ?!

I have to congratulate Beltron (UK's service rep in Hong Kong) for the incredible service I received from them over the last 3 days.
William Chou take a bow !

1. Sent email to Beltron - they returned email promptly and then called me from HK (even to Shanghai that is international rates) and told me exactly what to do re: packaging etc.
2. Sent by 1 day courier to HK (cost to me US$15)
3. Received call from Beltron - they would turn it around in 24 hours since I am desperate (dive vacation starts Tuesday)
4. Today - 1 day later - received lamp in perfect working order and they had even changed the handle to a lantern for me as requested.
5. Follow up call from Beltron explaining how to take care of the lamp !

Fantastic ! 3 days in all. It seems there was a tiny hole at the top of the bulb where the gas it contains had all leaked out.

William's tips :-
a. Must allow 30 secs after start-up before switching off again otherwise kaaaboom ! I think UK do warn about this too.
b. Never touch the bulb with bare fingers as you may deposit grease / oil / earwax  on the bulb resulting in .... kaaaboom !
c. Do not overtighten the top onto the O ring as this may result in damage and or leaks
d. If the lamp floods do not worry, wash throughly with fresh water (don't touch the bulb) and dry completely - should work like new.

Thanks William :D

BTW Murat I can also see light coming from the seal so I just hope that is normal otherwise Beltron will be hearing from me again for a flooded lamp !

Shanghai Manta

I went diving last weekend and tried my LC. it works flowless and the light is amazing. Don't woory about the seal its normal. Mine still works ;)

the light cannon is fragile??

damn, someone should have told me sooner, idda stopped treating it so poorly. lol

i bought a light cannon end of may and have been chuckin it in my gear bag ever since. its been banged around on the boat and tossed in the back of my truck, never had any problems with it.

i prefer the lantern grip.

as for underwater photography, it can be mounted on the camera, freeing up your hands to work the camera. lol.

love my light cannon.

:)

I fall into the camp of people who are having problems with a light cannon. As described by others, in several posts, when I try to light the thing up, I get a humming noise for 3 or 4 seconds and no light. After a few tries, it lights up, stays lit and will relight without problem. So far anyway. Maybe it will fail later?
The light has only been wet 3 times and never miss-treated or dropped.
Now I realize it is probably a bad bulb via a manufacturing fault.
I am now trying to contact UK and get a solution to the problem. I will post when I find out what they are going to do.
I am hoping that since I did purchase from an authorized dealer, I will be OK and the bulb will get replaced, but we shall see.

I just got an e-mail back from UK with regards to my faulty LC100. They want me to ship the unit back - presumably at my expense - and they will have an look at it an repair it (replace the bulb in all likelyhood). No RMA # given - Just send it back.
Of course I didn't get a box with it, so I don't have a proper box in which to ship. Has anyone purchased one of these in a box?
Anyone got written instructions for a Light Cannon?
Does anyone know what the warranty is on these?
I guess I should have asked these questions when I purchased it! Now I am sorry I didn't buy a much cheaper, but more conventional light.
