What gives???? Everybody on here hibernating now? Water temp isn't to extreme to not dive. So what is everybody doing? Brian when is the next time your going to be at Gilboa?

Well, some of us are leaving for Florida and some diving in the Keys this week. Will be in the Keys the 15th and 16th and back to Michigan and at work on the 20th. I don't plan on doing any cold water diving this winter. Did pleny last year, and our deep dive at Gilboa in November was just plain cold! Look forward to the water of the sub-tropics to hold me over until sometime in the spring....

Actually Gilboa may be happening for me next weekend. But, my employer has new budget for the new year and may be asking people to work overtime again so I can't be certain.

If I am not working, I will find out by tomorrow (I work afternoons) and post here as I would like to do a deep plan. I am trying to get my Oly camera housing tested and used to that steel brick called a LP 45 that I am diving with now.

Subtropics would sound great except I need the vacation for Great Lakes/ upstate NY/ Canada this summer. Oh yeah, I have a Dutch Springs trip scheduled again, too! I believe that it is May this year.

Have a Great trip! Just got back from Florida and well it was GREAT! Hope you can get out on a few of the wrecks in the Keys, otherwise the drift dives are just as fun!Dove the Key's with a guy from U.P.Michigan and he just wore his BC and shorts! my 3mm and 1 MM microprene kept me toasty!but looking at the locals shiver was fun!

Should be taking my final exam for Dive Control within the next few weeks....

I would love to go but will be down Mid April to Lauderdale by the sea for the best scuba show around,my wife may tell me to stay if i was to go again!
you doing some training in Largo?

Is Gilboa going to be open on weekends through the winter or did Mike close it down? He was still deciding last time I talked to him (November I believe). Don't know if I'll be diving this winter anyway, the hubby's 25th anniversary dive in December left my hands freezing for hours afterwards and I can't afford dry gloves until Christmas is paid off. We'll be heading to Naples, FL Feb. 18-23 for a business meeting and we have extra time after the meeting so we can drive to the Keys and get a couple dives in. I'm hoping to meet with Walter while we're down there and see if we can do the Venice beach shark tooth dive again too, that was my favorite dive of the year last year.

Mike is open on Sat./Sun. only between certain hours for the winter. That seems to be the compromise that he made to keep the quarry open for those of us that need our fix during the winter.

My new drysuit has drygloves coming! So, cold hands will soon be a thing of the past for me!

It is going to be both business and fun. No training yet in Florida, the cave bug hasn't bit me yet. Starting my advanced Nitrox here then moving on to deeper depths. Might just fly down in April to see the scuba show, I wonder if anyone wants to go on that trip?
