Hello there, I am new to this site (just found it today, actually). I had no idea that the scuba community was online and talking. Most of the other discussion boards that I have found have had very very few posts on them ;-0 . It is nice to see that some of us can talk... :) as well as dive.

I have been diving for about 2 years, but have only had time to get in the water a couple of times : Thailand, Great Barrier Reef, and the Poor Nights (NZ). I am a Canadian, but jump about the globe as much as possible and consequently have not dived on the West Coast (apparently one of the top places to dive in the world). I am hoping to rectify that (wish everything was free!) soon.

My buddy (Dive Buddy, actually) and I created a website so that we can keep track of all our dives and dive-related stuff online. It is totally free (hoping to be supported by ads in the future) and has tons of diver-specific features including logging of dives, worldwide dive-buddy database, journals, and tons more. If you want, take a look and let me know what you think..... we are looking for input!

Welcome to the boards!!

nice site,

Tim,
it must be your ISP,
I didn't get any pop-ups :)

Hi Bob101!
Hope the site goes well for you. I'll stay tuned.
Some of us talk more than we dive :)
No pop-ups for me either.

I've only been on this site for a few months, and already have had some great discussions on a number of topics. Welcome! From your link, I think you will make a valuable contribution here.

I too an new to the ScubaBoard and was delighted to see so much info available at the click of a button.

I too have created a website for our club and I have to say that it is very slow getting things going. The most difficult thing that I have found so far is encouraging members to use the forums. Have you any tips or hints that would help us to increase usage.

I would welcome any comments or criticisms and if you like you can view our site at http://homepage.eircom.net/~Wicklowsac

Thank you for the warm greetings and the comments on the new dive logging site. When you visit, there should be a maximum of one popup/under. Anything else is likely from another page that you have opened. Also, at the moment there are no ads in the members section.

get out and dive,
Chris
