I ended up paying for a short subscription. It wasn’t too expensive. I’ll check out Diving log. Thanks all.

If you're a Windows user, you can try my software Diving Log. It syncs with several online logbooks, so you have your dives online, but also keep them offline on your own hardware. Exports in other formats are also available.
Is there a trial period before buying? Is the 40 euros a one time charge or is it subscription based?

From the FAQs on the site: Paying for the Windows version gets you the app version as well (even though both were done by different developers.) There is a "small" fee to update to major versions (i.e. 5.0 -> 6.0).

Edit: You can load 10 dives in the download version before you need to have an unlock code.

Yes, you can download the trial version directly from the website and unlock it after purchasing. It's a one-time fee, no subscription.
I read on your site that you offer group discounts for dive clubs, etc. Would that apply to Scubaboard, which is probably the world's largest dive group?

Here you go: if you enter the coupon code "Scubaboard" on the "ShareIt" order form, you get 10% discount.

Thanks for the discount code for us Scubaboard members!

It looks pretty impressive from what I was able to gather from perusing the web site. I'll have to look at it closer.

I would never store any long-term archival data that I care about on any cloud service, not even a reputable one, not even google. And especially not one that requires a constant subscription. Been burned before. All it takes is for someone to make the business decision that deleting your stuff saves money. They don't care. Cloud is great for sharing files and co-working on stuff, not for archiving a lifetime of dive logs or precious family photos.

Local backups, and backups of backups. Luckily dive logs hardly take up any space at all, and with drives now incredibly cheap it's easy to have redundant duplicates. Keep the drives in a cheap fire safe, with an emergency duplicate at a separate location if you really care about your dive media hoard.
