I was wondering did you get to dive out of Hydrospace last weekend our was it too rough. If you did go what was the temp. and what thermal protection would work. 6 mil farmer john maybe or more. I hope to get down there in the next couple weeks and was courious. Thanks.

By the time we got out Saturday (about noon) it had laid down nicely, with a light northerly breeze. Water was right at 60F (15C) - two very nice dives on the usual - Black Bart & Bridge span 14. Nowhere near the fish density of summer, but did see a few legal amberjack and snapper. (I wasn't hunting so I didn't even check to see what is in season)
Sunday's first dive was the best (Bridge span 2) - big old loggerhead wanted his belly scratched; of course I had the camera set for macro. If they turn out ok I got a couple of good shots of his eye and beak.
All in all a very pleasant weekend.
If the photos turn out good I'll put 'em up.
My buddy and I were in drysuits; there were others in wetsuits from 5 to 7 mils - they weren't nearly as comfortable as we were but made the dives without shaking too very much.
Rick :)

Thanks for the info. Glad you had some good dives. I may have to stick to the springs until it warms up a little in the Gulf. The earliest I will get back to PC will prob. be 1st week in April.
