Hey everyone!!
My name is Melody & I just wanted to introduce myself real quick. I’m a new diver, just getting my open water & Nitrox last month. I have just 2 open water dives in but I have an awesome dive shop/group that does tons of trips out so that will be changing this year.
I’m so excited to be FINALLY getting around to enjoying what I’ve always wanted to try & it did NOT disappoint at all!!
My only question if anybody can point me in the right direction on this site...used equipment anybody may be selling. I have a BC but looking for a reg & dive computer (watch preferable because I’m use to my Apple Watch).

BC fit can be very tricky especially for women, so suggest you check out any local FB scuba gear sale groups. There are lots across the country. I’m sure FL has a ton.

Hello and welcome. This is a great place for information. A lot of cumulative years of experience here. As far as used gear you might start here ScubaBoard's Classified Section

I have the BC. I bought that new after taking class & trying on several. Trust me!! I ran into several “issues” with fit!! :D

There is a pretty healthy market for used gear in central and NC, Florida. And because a lot of it get used in the springs, it’s is often in pretty good shape.

computers can be tricky. If you are looking for a watch style computer that is in anyway like your I watch.. the price will be a bit steep. You might look at the cosmiq that are mid range watch style and not too bad on price. Other than that you have the shearwter teric and garmin Descent. There are plenty other watch style.. but most lack features and are pretty basic.

regs are a big can of worms.. ask 10 people and you will likely get 15 opinions. Most of what is sold used on Craigslist of FBM is junk and not worth much. By the time you pay for service and repair, you might have been better off buying new. There are exceptions, but you really have to know what you are looking for.

for buying used gear, I think it’s a good idea to stay close to some experiences divers and see what they are diving. Often, they might have some gear they can sell you for a good deal.

I’m going to try the classifieds on here first & see what I can find. I’m definitely going to err on the side of judgement for those 2 things. Definitely don’t want to be scammed!!

Hi @MJ1979

What kind of diving are you interested in, fresh water, ocean, or both? You are 2 1/2 to 3 hours from great ocean diving in Jupiter, West Palm, and Boynton Beach.

I’m actually interested in both. I haven’t really did either so I’m keeping an open mind!!
