After the servers started to work again, I was able to read the story on your link. The guess is that this was a PFO that was hemodynamically significant. If her problems with respect to DCS cease, I would guess that is true.
If all of this is correct, then we might conclude that this diver is in the "DCS sensitive category. That is, she both makes decompression bubbles easily and has a hemodynamically significant lesion. This would not be common but is certainly possible when tens of thousands of divers are concerned. She has learned this the hard way.
Tendencies
Because you cannot predict from day to day, the recommendation is made here to consider yourself as a DCS sensitive diver. Avoid exertion post dive, and stay hydrated. This are important for all and, for some, extremely important. There does not yet exist a blood test for DCS sensitivity.
