nope - it's two up. 6US = 10UK. I think it used to be one up (15 years ago or so) but then somebody changed their sizes.

Anyway, makes me just love shopping in American sizes :D

Though it kind of sucked in Japan, where Gap was one of the few places I could get clothes. They did sell size 6 & 8, but also sold lots of size 00. Yep, that's smaller than 0. I even saw a few 000 ;-0 but I didn't think my little finger would look good in leather jeans.

Thanks, clootie, now I know I'm not just expanding.

One thing about shopping in Japan that I liked was the panty hose. At 5' 4", I was at the upper end of the size range, but they were wonderful - the toes did not run. Anything else that involved hips, though...that was a problem.

I'm currently diving a Bare one piece 7mil and love it. While the hyperstretch does allow for a custom-like fit, I have heard from others at my dive store that Henderson's post-sale customer service sucks - took more than A YEAR to have repairs done to a suit that had only 5 dives on it when it essentially fell apart. The Bare velocity does have the stretchy panels for good fit - and it comes in a 5/4 as well as 3/2 if you'd like a little extra warmth.

So far I love my (3 mil) Henderson Hyperstretch - being short and big busted it was love at first fit! Especially after squeezing into a standard wetsuit when I took my OW classes ... I have not had any problems with wear & tear, or quality so far - so I can't comment on the service aspect. I did buy it at the local DS and they matched an internet price for me ..... and they did say if there were any problems they would handle the return for servicing for me ..... an advantage to buying local & live .....:)

Diver Kat, you sound like you have the same build as my mother. She also bought a henderson hyperstretch and loves it. I also had a student over the weekend who dove a 5 mil henderson hyperstretch with the core warmer over it in our Pacific Northwest waters (52 degrees at depth) and was just fine. I was very impressed by the suits versatility and performance.

Glad to hear it ...... don't know if I'll ever go heavier weight - I prefer the warm water diving - but the lake here starts getting pretty cold by end of November and doesn't warm up enough for my 3 mil till really the end of June. So it's nice to now the thicker hypers still keep stretching - in case I need one!! Actually my daughter also bought one - and she's the opposite of me - tall - a fraction under 6 ft - and slim with minimal bust - I think she got a size 10 - and loved the fit compared to all the others she tried on ...... so the hypers do work for a lot of different bodies .....:D
