Hey
my current hood stinks, putting it on feels like being born again. It collects air in the top of my head, and shifts and moves my mask out place. I'm looking at henderson hoods, either the gold core or the hyperstretch, probobly the 7/5 mm thickness. On my last dive a dutch springs it was 42 degrees on the bottom (had a reg freeflow on me, but nevermind). What do you think? Has anyone used these? And if you have could you give me a word on sizing, do they run big or small?

Thanks,
Babar

For me I love the Hyper hood. The gold core felt more traditional hood than anything, toasty yes. However, for pure comfort I would go hyper stretch. The thing hugs my face so well, and in some dives I never have to clear my ears down to 100 for it makes such a good seal.

Ohh on the sizing i would go smaller rather than bigger for the hyper, they can always stretch. So if you are between a med and a lg i would go smaller. But thats just me.

The one-way vent in Hendersons hoods seems to work pretty well too.

I have a one-piece 7mm w/integrated hood Henderson Gold-Core semi-dry wet suit. I'm very happy with their product so far!

I have a Gold Core hood with a bib which I liked a lot. When I got my drysuit, I got the Henderson dry hood. It is Hyperstretch Gold Core Combo. Hyperstretch material with gold core around the face and neck to help seal it. Extremely comfortable. I've worn it in Lake Michigan and in the 39 degree quarry. It is warm when I remember to make sure it is pulled down around my whole face!

I would go smaller on the hyperstretch and its allot more comfortable. as far gold core extremly warm but there again fels like a traditional hood.

I wear a hyperstretch 7/5 hood for cold water diving and its the most comfortable hood I've ever tried, buy a size smaller than you normally wear. I've never tried the gold core hood.

The Hyperstretch is way easier to put on and much more comfortable ...on the surface. In the water, at depth, the Gold core is so much warmer. IMO.
