I would definitely recommend staying at Posada Acro Iris. You can find them with a quick web search....I have stayed there twice and love it. It is decently priced (30-50us/night) and includes rooms with two beds, refrig, a/c, hammock...and it is in the middle of it all and clean.

I also recommend Ocean Connections to dive with...(also been there twice), it's a big yellow house in the middle of town....one of the DMs who I think now runs the place (kent) is pretty awesome.

OK, enough is enough. I've been reading these forums for over a year now without posting. But how much name dropping by Wil Welbourn (aka BayIslandsDiver) can there be on one forum?

When your website about the bay islands is up and running, please let us know and please post a link. The more opinions we have. the better decisions we can make about our vacations.

Bay Island Diver:
The writers of (Lonely Planet) thought my website had some content that was worth publishing in their guides, having visited Roatan and talked to me.

Jeepers, Willy- don't know as how I would admit to that. You didn't let them publish your real name, did you?

I hear Trip Advisor is looking for some more content. Maybe even Undercurrent.

Shoot up a red flare when Discovery Channel starts filming.

Easy, just go to Bay Islands Beach Resort for good food, great Diving, Good entertainment, friendly folks, good prices, and all the shore diving you can do! Add Spooky Channel and Nitrox and what else do you need? All the operations on the Island have merit, I just like Ted and Cam! Oh ya and the Thursday night pig roast!

GoPro, I hope it wasn't your dive center that had the instructor a couple years ago in August that took the student to 200ft on her checkout dive? :shakehead: She was from Finland and she was just a little bent flying the next morning! What Organization do you work with? I and some friends stayed at the Mango inn once, nice island I hope to get back one of these days!

"GoPro, I hope it wasn't your dive center"

Now I've done it, the muds flying!

My apologies to Bay Islands Diver, Will Welbourn, for a post that I have since deleted that was on this thread. Whilst I believe the validity of my content was accurate, my tone and mocking manner were inappropriate for a public forum and I apologize to anyone who took offense.

Yours sincerely,
Andy

No mud! Just asking and nothing meant by it, the guy was fired on the spot when the word got back to the agency! It was handled right, just seeing if there was a connection or if you heard about the incident? All is good! ;)
