Help with renting equipment

In terms of renting equipment, there will be no problem as long as you have your PADI certification card. A SSI dive shop will work with you as long as you are already OW certified with any agency.
 
If you're going to be up in that area, you might want to go on up to the Traverse City area. There's a pretty active dive group out of Scuba North, and the viz in the bay will be much better than the smaller lakes.

Sorry for the off-topic, but it's crazy, BuoyantC, that you're in Saipan, I'm in Guam, and you're talking about the shop I certified OW at when I was 14 years old! Again, sorry for the off-topic, now back to your regularly scheduled programming:D
