Fundamentals is a wonderful investment no matter the cost. I don't think it matters too much who your instructor is – the more experienced (and/or famous) they could be more expensive. From what I heard standards are pretty high to become an instructor with GUE, so pick someone who is available or you think you might get along with well. Location doesn't matter for Fundies; you'll stay very shallow and focus just on skills.
