Does anyone out there subscribe to On-line LA Times? I need the Solomon Moore article for mid June written on Iraq training situation. I find it on the search but have no access....OR if anyone knows how I can obtain it another way? Just trying to avoid subscribing just for this one article. I need it, as BF quoted and in a little warm water ( Solomon Moore, with the Gucci glasses....:ermm:,)

Does anyone actually subscribe to the LA fish wrap-errr Times anymore ... as well ... one thing you will not find in the LA Times is a reasoned thoughtful article about what is happening in the world today ...

Skull, we may or may not be coming from the same place, but it is IMHO a rag. Some of us do have pet birds, however...I so miss the Washington Post.

lol

sounds like you guys just don't like papers to the left of Rush Limbaugh

I'm WAY to the left of Limbaugh and I'm not a big fan of the L. A. Times after what they wrote about some things I was directly involved in.

thanks so much...I wonder if there is a search function for a name?....James Beal?
I need to narrow it down, yes May.

thing you will not find in the LA Times is a reasoned thoughtful article about what is happening in the world today ...

yea, well..I said he had on Gucci sunglasses. (not that there is anything WRONG with Gucci:rolleyes: just ..you know..combat and all...)

okay...have it, Sb better than google!

of "There's a lot of lip service being given about letting the Iraqis do independent ops, but ....."said Capt. James Beal, who lives alongside Iraqi troops

oops, guess you should not speak up when reporters are lurking....

well, C, the inability of the Iraqis to do independent ops is about as secret as
the fact that Mosul has bad guys lurking there.

basically, the Iraqis get hit, the US shows up and takes care of business, a
few truckloads of Iraqis arrive and take over from the US troops, and the
press comunique says "Iraqi troops relieved the garrison at X after insurgents
attacked the police station there."

in fact, we are *still* in Iraq b/c the Iraqis can't do independent ops against
the insurgents by themselves ... yet ...

the question is, will they ever? and if so, how long will it take?

Well the San Diego Union Trib. is about as far right as you are going to get ...I stopped my subscription that that one too...

Gleaning facts from a news paper is like running into the local temple rabbi at the market and asking him is professional opinion about the nutritional merits of eating pork.

For entertainment and opinion pages ...they're fun ...for news ...well lets just say I would never use them as a primary source . In particular the LA Times

But hey everyone likes to here someone elses opinion on a news story ...they even pay for it.
