The physiologic manifestations of oxygen toxicity include decreases in vital capacity, diffusing capacity, and lung compliance. Each of these phenomena may (probably do) occur at different pO2 in an individual, and then you have the inter-subject variation. So, modeling this mathematically is highly complex. It's very hard to create a function to fit the data points. They're all over the place.

LOL. Curve fitting doesn't mean the curve goes through all the data points. Nor does it necessarily mean the curve is of any great value after it is fit.
