Pinnacle makes a good suit too I got the Evo 2 and it is a good suit it has heavy wrist seals then the DUI and yes I know you can't get the zip seals like the DUI but for the money you get a suit that is just as good.

Problems, my man:
1. Under a grand is not a good place to look for a quality dry suit, unless you are willing to go used or factory returns...

I have to agree with this comment... almost to a person (and there are exceptions I am sure) if a person is diving longer than 5 years on thier drysuit they bought it new and paid top dollar. Most of the dive centers in your area would be able to find you a suit that is under $1000 and some can find you a REALLY nice "new" suit for that much. Problem is that they have been sitting around a while. As a dive center we buy display models and then order the suit in the right size and the right features for people. If you fit in the floor model and you are happy with the features of that model we can let it go cheaper after it has been around a while. ( I now buy the floor models in MY size)

If you buy a drysuit that is exactly what you want, with the features you want, with the flexibility of being able to dive where you want, regardless of the manufacturer it is my belief that with the proper care and maintenance and a couple of factory sanctioned repairs (new seals every couple of years, new zipper every 5 and a factory authorized repair of any damage) you can get a suit to last you a very long time. I have had vikings most of my career and am able to get 5 years and nearly 500 dives out of them, Two years ago I switched to the Pinnacle evolution 2 and am VERY happy with it. Over 200 dives in two and a half years and a 25lb weight loss and it still fits. (god love the telescoping torso) I have had friends who have had suits last 6 - 8 and even 10 years. But they were all $2000+ suits.

I do not know where you are at in this area but I am sure many dive centers do what I do at mine. If you are planning on a suit, we allow you to credit one day' rental towards the purchase of a suit so you can try it before you buy it (or in some cases don't) buy it. We also include the drysuit course with every drysuit we sell. I would suggest you give your LDS a shot before you make a decision.

Spend a little more on your first suit and it could be a suit that will last you a Really long time.

My 2 cents
