I'd second (or is that third) Maui ... and yes I'm biased 
we have some great hiking (lots of day hikes from 1/2 hr "walks" to 20 mile grueling hikes)
Biking is pretty good around here, a LOT less crazy than Oahu, though not many bike paths, but shoulders on the highways are fairly wide.
Diving - Lots of shore diving ... Kona sometimes gets higher marks for it's diving, but Maui is not far behind from what I've been told.
Crowds - 180,000 people vs. 1 million on Oahu (and 30% more land area to put them in here too)
Let me know if I can provide info on the cycling, hiking or diving on Maui as I've been involved in all three here (though only diving lately)
