Sonic, looks like you have already decided on a Zeagle, good choice. They are better constructed than the Mares and if you have any issues, Zeagle's customer service is way above anyone else in the dive industry.

I have been thinking about one of these.

Check it out.

Zeagle Express Tech Deluxe BCD reviews and discounts, Zeagle

I have a Zeagle Ranger but I would like something with less padding etc...

A lot of us are using these, nice little BC. I personally don't see much need in the delux model, the standard one does fine although changing the webbing to a softer type is a nice addition. The 24 lb wing is plenty and it packs almost flat making it an ideal travel BC. As an added bonus, with a little modiication (adding some weightbelt slides and a crotch strap) it play nicely with double hose regs.

Well guys, they convinced me to get a Ranger. Ranger was on sale from $630 to $480 and just felt better. At that price, it didn't take too long to decide to upgrade from the $380 Stiletto.

Can't wait to get out there and dive with it.

I have a Zeagle Ranger Back Inflate BC and love it. You should try the different Zeagle BC's to see which fits you better. Also with Zeagle you can custom fit the upper, mid, and lower sections to fit your needs. A great product.

Looks like I"m too late to provide useful input, but for what it's worth, the Aqualung Zuma is a superb BCD to consider. I purchased mine recently and dived in the Fl Keys for a week with it. It is sooo comfortable and easy to manipulate.

The Ranger is a great BC but just because it costs more doesn't make it better. I had the chance to "upgrade" to a brigade (ranger with escape bladder) that had the upgrades rear trim pockets and Lumbar pad. After wearing both I decided I liked the Stiletto better. It was less bulky and just felt better to me. I will never need the huge bladder that a Ranger has so I don't think it makes much sense to pack it around. The Brigade is still not as easy to travel with as the Stiletto. The Stiletto is still very durable but just designed for a different type of diver.

Good luck with your choice I hope you really enjoy it.

Awesome! I should be the proud owner of a Zeagle Stiletto tomorrow morning. I like how this one still has zipper pockets on it whereas most I've seen don't have any or have small velcro fold out ones.
I saw an old post about the Zeagle, did you buy it and how do you like it? I am thinking about getting one.

Sorry I kind of abandoned this thread after I bought it. Obviously I have dived it by now and I love it! Just convinced my buddy to get the Ranger LTD that was on sale on LP.

Don't think I'll ever go back to a jacket style haha
