The Jetstream, currently by DiveRite, or Poseidon Cyklons (avail. used cheap).
That said, the Mk17/G250 is a great rig.

Guys,
I know you all love your thousand dollar reg sets, but that's not really in the cards for me. As I stated in my original post, I'm looking for options that come in at or under $700 that are every bit as good, if there are any.
I'd also be really interested in comment on modifying my current rig as a solution for a few years.
Thanks,
Eric

I like the Posedion XSTREAM, lifetime warrenty, depths of 640' tested. So far no problem.(getting it serviced takes a week from my local diveshop.)
Why don't you order the environment kit for you cressi? that is like a 50 dollar part, I dove mine cressi after adding the kit in 5 degree celsius and it had no problems. It may give you some time to get the money together to get the thousand dollar reg everyone seem to be suggesting. Or get like a oceanic Delta 4, it will be sub 600 with everything. jmtc.
Also you can order a din conversion kit, for about 60 bucks from cressi.
I'm thinking about doing exactly this. Wanted some validation that it's not a crazy idea.
