It would be interesting to many of us how you know this, thanks.
You want my full Commercial diving CV and diving background or the fact that the front brailles are supposed to come off as a four part construction of two matching pairs front and back and not that continuous contraption in the photo.

Also the front weight studs need to be pinned and rivet peened (I guess they forgot) besides no need as no one is ever going to hang lead on them let alone dive with it. And that's just from the first photo.

Besides even the grandson knows that the brailles can be taken off.
Pass me the wrench grandad I've got this.

Also from the first photo and a dead give away that its a fake are those two "Thumb Hooks" either side of the helmet.

Now the clue is you need to hang a rope string over them and they are not thumb hooks.
But apart from that interesting detail ...........They are upside down ROFL

The gooseneck sticks out so much its a hazard to shipping even a lavatory sanitary fitting takes up less space in a plumber's tool bag

Fully open that Spit cock wouldn't irrigate a mustard seed in spring let alone clear the windows before fall.

The name plate is a utter disgrace I'm only surprised they managed to spell the I before E except after C

And the one thing that contraption has never seen or ever will see is C or Sea in some quarters.

You may have loads of commercial diving expertise but you seem to be sorely lacking tact and empathy.

The helmet belonged to @Popeye98 LATE father. The value of the helmet is that it reminds him of his father. He was just looking for insight about the helmet even if just a replica - not a caustic old museum curator’s strident appraisal.

If we go on a boat dive, your a$$ is getting left on the dock.

If someone asks real or fake, they should be prepared to hear the truth. Sugar coated bulls**t is still BS.

“Of course you grandfather’s Rolex is real”.

As for me @iain/hsm would make an interesting boatmate

I wouldn’t worry about whether it’s a genuine Siebe Gorman. Some copy,s are as collectible as the genuine article. You’d have to admire the tenacity of the people who made these with very little. It’s a lovely thing to have.

That's unfair I've got plenty of tact and empathy and I don't want the horse sorely.
I have two saddles both English saddles with all the tack that goes with them the bridles halters bits and reins. As for empathy again I have plenty of that too.
I want the horse to be comfortable with the saddle it's important you don't want the horse sorely.
For empathy I use a good quality saddle blanket. Happy now.

That's also a bit unfair.
If we ever did go on a dive boat you would have a whale of a time.

Good food laundry and a gym you would enjoy it. What's not to like
I could even sort you out with a cave fill. On the other hand the diving is a tad rough.

Now regarding leaving me back on the dock let me think ....with all those Norwegian girls.....mmm
See you later friend.
