One of our own, a dive boat captain/retired Navy Seal, based here in HI has been hit with yet another tragedy. I have left off the captain’s name. He doesn’t know I am doing this. Not that he would mind, but just in case…

To give you a brief overview; Two years ago his wife was diagnosed with a rare/incurable illness that is she battling.

To add to the already extremely difficult times: Two weeks ago the family went out and upon returning home, they found their home had been burnt to the ground. Everyone, including the captain, his wife, their son, along with his wife and their baby son, has lost everything.

This means kitchen stuff, personal stuff, I mean everything.

I personally have bought some clothes for the baby, who is about 9 months. I am hoping that we here on SB can help them out a bit as well. We can’t cure his wife, but we sure can help them through this tragedy :hugs: They could really use good condition home items, like kitchen stuff. If you don’t live in the area, and still want to help, pm me for paypal or other information. I will collect everything and bring it to him with a card that I will sign in your name (unless you wish to stay anonymous). I have never done anything like this so if anyone has anything they want to add just pm me.

Aloha and thank you so much everyone,
Lisa

Lisa, I will be happy to help this family.

My family lost our home to fire when I was about 8 years old and it is a traumatic experience.

Thank you for what you are doing.

Ooooof, that is a tough one. Your family photos, everything. I dunno, people can help one get back on their feet but that is one thing you just can't replace. That is just tragic.

Good thing you are trying to do Leesa - taking the initiative to help a fellow mate. :)

I am truly touched by the generosity here....:bawling: (I'm such a wuss)
