I'm an entry-level commercial diver & took an H.B.O. Tech course given through the U.K.'s Health Safety Executive. I learned about the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Technology via U.H.M.S. I've finished Dr. Bookspan's workbook-how do I get the 480 hours fulfilled? I know where to go-as mentioned in the packet sent to me by N.B.D.H.M.T-but how to get in the door? If anyone is familiar, some light on the subject would be great.
Also curious-is N.B.D.H.M.T. the sole governing body for H.B.O. therapy in the U.S.? Is this the path to take for a position within a clinical setting?

Thanks.

I'd suggest posting your question on the Diving Medicine forum. You'll be more likely to find what you're looking for.

Welcome to the board,
Grier

Thanks for the 2-cents. I went ahead & posted it within Dive Medicine. It's been frustrating with all these different agencies. When one finishes a course, it begs the questions, "Is this the best choice?" or "Will it be recognized?"

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Hopefully, you'll have some more knowledgeable people pointing you in the right direction soon. Unfortunately, I don't know much about commercial diving. Look for pipedope, one of our moderators, here on the board. He is knowledgeable about commercial diving and may be a good source of information. You may want to send him a PM.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hello from Matt,

Welcome to ScubaBoard ! :1poke: I came here to look for help with my scuba diving dream and the response has been fantastic. So, I know you will enjoy being a member here.
There are a lot of nice and informative scuba divers. It's a good place to meet other divers and share experiences and dreams. Take care from Matt. :snorkels:

Aw darn, the subject line got me all excited......

I thought the HBO cert was going to be some new kind of sit on the couch, remote control in hand kind of dive cert. In other words, right up my alley.

Oh well, welcome to the board anyway. :)
