Last year I was persuaded to dive the Persian Gulf in the Northern Emirates (RAK), the vis was on average around 2m, I'm not tempted unless desperate to check out some new gear to repeat this, although there is an opportunity to dive the "Energy" with military escort (due to political issues) occasionally.

Oman has some fabulous diving (Damaniyats) as well as Musandam, but doesn't match the Red Sea or SE Asia (Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia - I don't rate Thailand more than 5/10).

While I'm curious to see what is present UW off the shores of Iran, nothing has really tempted me so far to go there and dive. Bringing camera equipment over could also be an issue, bad enough entering Amman airport in Jordan with an SLR camera.

HiDeh: Are you a diver?
I don't think you are as your comments indicate so. Example: You say how often professional photographers go to the Red Sea? Answer is all the time not never. Above you state that simple GoPro may not be suitable for UW Photography. Yes GoPro is more a video camera but there have been some amazing shots of the UW world.

Perhaps you are just getting a feel for the divers.
:acclaim: Actually, I am not a professional one and don't know what a professional photographer take when he/she is under water! Yes, it is possible to take WoW photo by a GoPro UW but is it a professional device for photographing UW? I.D.K!
"How often professional divers go ...." I mean isn't it a duplicated destination for professionals?

We should all hope that the region becomes a haven for tourists both above and below the water. After all the great civilizations all have roots here and the people are all friendly and want to be part of the global citizenry.

. It's a popular destination. Like most locations, you can never see al of it at once or even ever.

Actually, I am not a professional one
Most folks here are divers. Some are professional. So welcome to the group.

Hi and Thanks for your answer. I wish one day come to Lavan or Kish Island for diving. I've got surprised "Bringing camera equipment over could also be an issue, bad enough entering Amman airport in Jordan with an SLR camera." you mean in Jordan there are some rules forbid entring SLR cameras?

Thanks Again!

Actually, I look for early adopter and adventurous divers who are eager to be the first! So this is why I try some places only once and look for somewhere new. I know that some places worth to visit hundreds of times.

That looks green water to me, reminding me of Musandam & Fujairah. Hadi saw a whaleshark though.

Hi again, and thanks a lot, I learned many things from your comments.

What Sinbad says. Had a look around your instagram and while they are fun personal videos, you really do need professional undrwater photographers to get some "wow" shots. A good photographer is worth their weight in gold to sell any destination.
Yes, I Agree, That was just a sample of UW video captured by an amateur person and we need "wow" shots to introduce this place better!

As an intereting case study of just how effective good photography is - look at Layang Layang resort in Malaysia.
Thank you, Fascinating suggestion.
Even the photos on the wikipedia page make you want to be there
:yeahbaby:wow, mission accomplished. I have just discovered a new destination. very nice and Inspired me a lot. Find somewhere like this and plan for an international photography event with serious money as prizes.
Glad you find my take on things useful - I used to work in British travel agency and we did a lot of tailor mades,
Your Recommendations and analysis are really helpful and useful. They show you are experienced in this kind of works, this is what we need and thank you again.
the archaeological sites you guys have
So Hope to See you in Iran!:wink:
