Welcome to ScubaBoard and to this awesome activity!

Always nice to see another from land-locked Iowa! Where are you at?

If you scroll down the board you will see some "local" topics - there's a couple that cover the Mid-West area including the wrecks throughout the Great Lakes. You might find some new buddies and dive sites closer to home for when you can't get to the ocean!

Enjoy the board and the diving!

I'm not one for cruises myself, but I'm sure it would be best to be certified before going rather than depending on the Resort Course training. Check out our New Divers forum...

Hi....I'm from Dubuque, originally...now in Guam by way of Fiji & Japan. Did my OW in 1982? in Devil's Lake, WI and AOW the following year in Lake Superior. Long drive to do diving from Iowa! Now the ocean's about 200 yards away, so I "could" walk there if I wanted to dive. I like to get home usually in October....get tired of the constant warm weather (& occasional typhoons) we have out this way.

good luck to you and your wife. you guys are going to have so much fun exploring the UW world. i know i did. btw welcome to the boards!
