Not really sure why I am going on like this...I guess I don't believe anyone will read this anyway.
reading your input...just wishing i were in France right now!! Lucky you!!

Thanks for the chin up advice...I should have mentioned the the attic apt I livein right now has pitched ceilings, so I have to walk down the middle, (I'm a little tall) and the bath tub that you mentioned diving in is a shower that I can barely squeeze into :) Ah the things we do sometimes. Thank you all the same for the welcome, I think you are right, I will enjoy this forum.

Thanks for the greet...I was just wondering, are you Dutch? Your name says "diving dutchman" -- as opposed to "Der Fliegende Holllaender" I suppose? Just curious as I spent 5 years in the Netherlands...even did a few dives out of Thallas. En ik spreek ok Nederlands, maar ik kan het beina neit schreiven...ik spreek echt plaat nederlands!

Any diving near Strassbourg?
Well, if you don't mind a 3 hour drive, there is always the Lake of Geneva. Dry suit season, but still lots of fun. Our club dives every Sunday morning. Send me a PM if you feel the urge...

Hey Skeet...

The girlfriend is a passion, but my other true passion is opera...I am an opera singer. Little odd I know, but I sort of grew up in the business and tried to fight it for a long time, but then realised opera is it for me. Problem is, I came a little late...just makes it a little more difficult, and opinions are like buttholes...everyone has one :) Just a little tired of being beating down all the time...I already spent 10 years in the Musical Theater business. That is where I made the money and found the time and travel to try out diving for the first time. I am sure I need not tell you how amazing diving is...I would do a two tank boat dive in the morning then do a show at night almost every day that I performed in Ft. Lauderdale...
I just need to work...I have just never worked in the diving industry other than assisting classes and free dive guide trips because of my DM rating. Don't really know where to start, but I am at least thinking of putting out those feelers. Thoughts?

Wow...would I ever like to dive lake Geneva! I have taken the train several times around the lake from here to Austria and other places in Switzerland...I would love to do that dive. One hitch, I am here with now gear right now. It is all in the States, waiting for me to get a job over here so I can bring it over. Any thoughts on equip or places to stay so I can do the dive? I could really use a dive about now.

Welcome to the board... hope you thoroughly enjoy it. And, yes, as you are discovering we do read the posts!

My two passions... diving and French women (ah to have Virginie Ledoyen as my dive body... er, I mean buddy)! Just teasing... diving and beautiful women divers of any nationality.

If you need gear, our club has loaners on just about everything. One of the instructors has made it a hobby to collect used dive gear at bargain prices and to bring it up to snuff. All you would need to find is a dry suit. There are many LDS around the lake. If you don't mind diving 5-6 C water in a wet suit, then we can probably find something within the club.

As to places to stay, this is one of the main tourist areas in Switzerland, so there are literally thousands of hotels, from simple B&Bs to five star palaces. I would recommend that you stay in the Montreux - Vevey area, since that is where the better dive sites are located.

As I said before, PM me if you are getting serious about arranging a dive trip here.
