I am new to this forum. I was originally certified in 1992. I have 50 dives under my belt so far, mostly all in the Monterey, California area. I did about 30 dives from 1992 to 1994, took several years off due to work, then picked it back up from 1997-1999. I haven't been in the water since 10/99, but I am heading back down this weekend to get wet again. We are heading out on a cruise to Cozumel, Belize, and Grand Caymen, and I just couldn't go there without squeezing in a few dives. My favorite place to dive is Point Lobos. I have also had some great dives off the Cypress Sea, Cypress Point, and the Beach Hopper II.

Welcome to Scubaboard.

Watch out for dlndavid he dives Monterey all the time, and he is a very touchy, feely guy. If you see him in the water get out.

Kidding :D

Welcome to the Board and back to diving...

Hey chevdiver, welcome to ScubaBoard and LIT ain't kidding. :55:
I do dive in Monterey, but not all the time and I just started diving there. I did a couple of dives there Sunday with a fellow board member Drewpy. The dives were from Lovers 3, temp around 58 deg F, and vis no more than 20 ft. Lot's of fun.

You've been out of diving for 6 years? Gonna' do a refresher course...?

PM me if I can help you find your way around here...

Thanks. Yes, it has been almost 6 years, but I am sure we will do fine. Might be a tad rusty but i am sure it will come back quickly. We are going to start with a few mellow dives at the Breakwater just to do some basic skill refreshers and reorient ourselves with our gear. Then, we have a couple dives planned for Point Lobos. I am even thinking about tossing in a boat dive as well to tune up for the cruise. Glad to hear the water temp is 58. That will make things a bit easier. My divebuddy (wife) and I have all our own gear (recently serviced) and that will make things much easier. Of course the wetsuits don't quite fit anymore so we'll have to rent until our "cruise diet" really kicks in. With our first Caribbean cruise and dives coming up, we are getting really excited about getting back into the sport again.

:happywave Hello there chevdiver, welcome to Scuba Board! I have been impressed with the help I’ve received from here. You came to the right place to seek advice and see what other divers are up to. Take care and Safe Diving. Matt. :walksmil:
