Atti,

I know exactly what you're looking for and here is what you need:

1. one 5mm vest and hood combo
2. a 7mm two piece farmer john wet suit (custom if possible)
3. a pair of 7mm wet suit booties
4. a pair of 7mm three fingered mittens (warmer) or a pair of 5 fingered gloves
5. a weight belt and weights (determined by your body structure)

I've gone ice diving and Spring quarry diving (40 degree water) in this set up and am very comfortable for about 35-40 min. Once you get the bouyancy you're comfortable with, you can frolic and swim in Indiana waters (as long as it's not frozen). This outfit will set you back about $350.00 give or take. Why not just get certified and enjoy both worlds? My $.02
