Anyone know where I can find one?

I got one from abysmal.com before they went out of business and really like it, but have been dissapointed at others I have picked up. I like DiveRite, but their buckles are thin ss and I have not been happy with them.

I have checked several local shops and the only ss buckles they carry are the "Trident" variety (which again are very thin metal)

Aloha, Tim

Grab your calipers/micrometer, how thick do you want the critters? The full pin variety I have are about .058, some of the stamped shiny jobbies are only a few thousandths less, but feel a lot cheezier.
You can always go with the old double D-rings, very stout. ;)

sometimes I really wish I had a pair of calipers around . . .I have a ruler and holding things as steady as I can the heavy one I have is 1/10th of an inch thick, the DiveRite is 1/20th of an inch thick - so there's a big difference between them. . . wish I could be more specific.

Try sending a message to Joel at Tech Diving Limited. He was affiliated with Abyss and now has his own separate business. He is quite familiar with much of the equipment that Abyss marketed. He is also here on this board JS1scuba.

Deep Outdoors makes a very hefty version of one. Changed to it and can take another pound off the weightbelt it seems. If you don't have a source for Deep Outdoors handy shoot me a PM.

FredT:
I have the full pin versions in stock.

FT

FredT, do you have a website or a catalog I could get?

I happen to have a couple of buckles in the garage, including a DO one:

The Deep Outdoors buckle material measures 0.100 (probably 12 gauge) and weighs 6.2 ounces; the construction is no-pin ("pins" are actually tabs on the pivoting part); the finish is bright polished.

The generic (not Trident; looks similar to the one Reef sells) material measures 0.060 (probably 16 gauge) and weighs 3.8 ounces; it is constructed with a pin that is peened at both ends; the finish is matte.
