Hearing loss after diving: help needed/anything else that can be done?

Not EternalCompression but I can lend some insights to the questions about hyperbaric treatment of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL). First though, to the original post, the OP's description is more consistent with inner ear barotrauma, though the exact mechanism described in later posts is one I haven't personally heard of. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not only not indicated for IEBT, it's contraindicated as it could cause harm.
There is enough peer-reviewed evidence to support the use of HBO2 therapy for ISSNHL that the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) has approved it as an indication. The UHMS is a reputable enough scientific body that many health insurance companies in the US accept its recommendations and will reimburse for UHMS-approved indications.
