Hawaiian Seahorse

- Although seahorses are neat, they're not worth very much.

If they aren't worth so much, why are they so expensive when I see them at fish stores?

I worked in the pet industry 'til I moved out here in the late 90s, at that time a wild caught seahorse wholesaled out at maybe 3-4 bucks. Might be a bit more now. A collector might get a quarter of that.

Nowadays there are tank raised seahorses available that do quite well in aquarium apparently, those are pricey but worth it if one wants to keep seahorses.
