It blows my mind how many are coming on all of a sudden. Today alone we have welcomed over 10 I am sure. Granted I am not complaining, it's nice to see fresh blood coming in, but wow.

Hey, we are doing great in the Welcome Department!

A lot of folks are helping out there when they can. We've been getting 10-15 new members a day since the first day of spring - lots of expected vacation divers getting certified, but more than just that - and very few get to page 2 without at least a few Hellos. Some just get 1 or 2, but with growth like we're enjoying - we're going a good job over all.

A few new members say they don't want to do this much until they've been here for a while. I felt that way when I was new, but - now I disagree. Friendly is friendly!

In fact, here are some members who joined recently but only got 1 or 2 greetings before they got got moved back by the joinings: Click and say Hi, if you'd like :

I guess I worry about this too much, but over the years - I have visited and joined various groups, and my first impressions, based on the friendliness of the groups, always had a big impact on me. When I joined here, ScubaJoe and others made me feel welcome, and I liked that! I know that this is a great organization, and I hope that new members can feel comfortable enough to get to know us at least - so I like doing the Howdys and even asking others if they would.

Now, I'll be out of touch Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, so - any of y'all who have time to watch the Intros and say Hi, please do, as I won't be able to.

Maybe I worry about this too much, but - I know how I've felt at times, when I went to visit a organization for the first time, and harly anyone said hi?! I think it's great to be friendly here.

A few have slipped beyond page 1 with only 1 or 2 Hellos. If you'd like to make sure they feel welcome, click and say "Hi There!
